Sacrifice of a Frog
Once upon a time in korea there lived a poor farmer. He lived in a village on the slopes of a high mountain. The farmer had a daughter named Bok-Sury. His wife has long died. Bok-Sury is a diligent and brave girl. She is very fond of her father.
One day when Bok-Sury cooks in the kitchen, a frog jumps in. The frog sits at his feet. Suddenly the frog said, "Bok-Sury give me some rice. My stomach came once ". Bok-Sury was shocked to hear the frog speak. But because she was a brave girl, she gave him a little rice on the frog. With gusto the frog ate his rice. The frog again said, "Thank you Bok-Sury! Now let me stay in the corner of your kitchen. I have no family, and besides I am happy to live near you. "
Bok-Sury did not repel the frog. He also felt lonely, the frog can be used as a friend of his speech. Every day when Bok-Sury cooks, leave little for the frog. No one knows about the frog. Her father did not know. Because it does not move, it grows bigger frogs. When one sees it will be thought the frog is a dog.
One day Bok-Sury's father fell ill. His body was getting thinner, his face pale. Bok-Sury tries hard to heal his father, but she does not succeed. Meanwhile, in a hamlet on the same mountainside, the people are restless. There is an old palace inhabited by giant creatures. Every year people have to sacrifice a human being. The prey was placed on an altar in the palace.
When the next day people see the person is not there, then it's a sign they will survive the raging giant creatures for a year. There have been many victims. Now the people are confused. They have no sacrifices for the giant creature. Eventually the people raised money. That much money will be given to anyone who wants to be victimized.
Bok-Sury heard the contest. Soon she decided to make himself a victim for the giant creature. She went to the village and got the money. With a lot of money, Bok-Sury went to buy ginseng.
What a joy, when she saw her beloved father gradually healed. Even within a few days her father could stand and walk. But the excitement of Bok-Sury can not last long. The appointed day arrived as well. Bok-Sury cooks a bit more for her father. Bok-Sury said to her father, "Dad, I'll come to a friend's house, maybe a little long. Father eat first, I've prepared. "
Bok-Sury's father is unsuspecting, because Bok-Sury often goes to help one of her neighbors. Bok-Sury remembered the frog. Out of his mouth came a roll of yellow smoke. The smoke rose upward. Suddenly from the roof of the house came out a roll of blue smoke. Yellow smoke from the frog tried to suppress the blue smoke. There was a push-pushing between the two fumes. But look. The yellow smoke finally managed to roll the blue smoke. At the same time the earth seemed to vibrate.
The next day people came to the palace. They got Bok-Sury unconscious near the carcass of a giant frog. Bok-Sury survived and can return to her father. She was awarded money and other valuable objects by villagers who had been freed from giant creatures.
Bok-Sury brought home the giant carcass. She buried it solemnly. Bok-Sury lives happily with his father.
